Chevrolet Onix ends January at the top, trailed by Fiat Strada. The Hyundai HB20 falls to sixth place.

Preliminary January sales data shows Fiat opening the year, keeping its leading in Brazil, followed by General Motors and Volkswagen – the same order of the brands ranking in 2022. The best-selling models’ list, nonetheless, showed novelties in the first month of the year.
Chevrolet Onix, which closed last year in third place among automobiles and light commercial vehicles, losing to Fiat Strada and the Hyundai HB20, was first in January, with almost 7.2 thousand sales and a 5.5% share. The Fiat’s pickup sold close to 7 thousand units, obtaining a 5.3% share.
The five bestseller models in the Brazilian market also included the Chevrolet Onix, Chevrolet Tracker, and the Hyundai Creta. Therefore, two SUVs were among the Top 5.
The Hyundai HB-20, which last year was the light vehicle market’s runner-up, finished January in sixth place. It sold almost 5 thousand units, a 3.8% share. The ten bestseller models list also includes the VW T-Cross, Fiat Argo, Fiat Mobi, and Jeep Compass.
Fiat led brands in January 2023 with a 21.8% share, while GM got 17.2% and Volkswagen 15.4%.
