Despite a strong reduction in exports, September registered the best daily production in the year, with 10.4 thousand units. The month had three working days less than August.

According to Anfavea’s monthly balance released on Friday, 10/6, the monthly production totaled 208.8 thousand units, 8% less than in August (226.9 thousand) and 0.5% more than last year (207.7 thousand).
The production reached 1.75 million vehicles from January through September, slightly 0.3% under one year ago.

Last month’s daily registers were a highlight with the second-best performance in the year, 9.9 thousand units. The number is second only to July, when the government’s discounts program pushed the market and reached 10.7 thousand vehicles/day.

“There is no reason to celebrate, as there was no growth in September. But the sales pace in the last few months eliminates the fear of a strong retraction with the end of the discounts program”, pondered Márcio de Lima Leite, Anfavea’s president, at the presentation of the automotive sector’s monthly figures.

Last month, the market purchased 197.7 thousand automobiles, light commercial vehicles and buses, 4.8% less than in August (207.7 thousand), but 1.9% more than in September 2022 (193.9 thousand). Total sales in the year grew by 8.5% to 1.62 million vehicles.
