Presented at the Fenatran as a concept truck, the VW Meteor Optimus should be ordered by customers interested in a model with the potential to save fuel up to 8% and prepared to ride with green diesel (HVO), which can reduce CO2 emissions by up to 90%.
As told by Roberto Cortes, president and CEO of Volkswagen Caminhões e Ônibus, the Meteor Optimus has innovative aerodynamic and safety solutions, such as cameras replacing rearview mirrors and massaging seat for the driver, with gains also in comfort and connectivity.
The executive announced the sale of the first batch of 20 units of the autonomous Constellation to the Vamos Group. A Fenatran, que abriu suas portas ao público nesta segunda-feira, 7, se estende até sexta-feira, 11, no São Paulo Expo, na capital paulista.
Besides the concept truck – with an estimated price of R$ 1 million and customizable to the customer’s needs – the brand exhibits more than 30 models from the Delivery, Constellation, and Meteor ranges with Euro 6 technology, which will reach the market in January 2023.
VWCO is investing R$ 2 billion from 2021 through 2025, half of this on developing the new pollutant emission technology.
“This Fenatran is historical for us, as it symbolizes a new era, with the largest engineering development in more than 40 years”, said the manufacturer’s CEO. “Its 30 new models focused on efficiency, comfort, technology and safety, as well as the first-hand presentation of the VW Meteor Optimus, with a package of technological solutions anticipating trends, offering the most advanced currently”.
