Suspensys transfer operations in Mexico

The company moves from Monterrey to Querétaro to be closer to customers and favor exports

Since mid-January, Suspensys’s Mexican operation has had a new address. The suspension and axle systems manufacturer, part of the group Random, left Monterrey to establish its base in Querétaro.

According to the company, the move takes operation to the country’s central region, closer to the customers, and improves supply logistics in a market that, on average, registers 20 thousand semitrailers yearly – Latin America’s second-largest, after Brazil.

The change is also strategic to easy exports to Chile, Peru and Colombia, as well as Central America and United States markets. The company plans to leverage external sales from Mexico, a business corresponding to 30% of the local operation.

For 2023, the Mexican unit projects to manufacture about 1.5 thousand axles (including the electrified e-Sys option) and 2.5 thousand suspensions, besides components for the aftermarket. The expectation is to triple the income yet this year, expanding domestic sales and export revenue.

Inaugurated in 2019, Suspensys’s unit in Monterrey started assembling axles and air suspensions for the original market. It soon expanded the portfolio with new axles lineups and ntegrated air suspensions, self-steering axles and pneumatic suspension sliders.

The new installations also will include the first Castertech Foundry and Technology warehouse abroad. This is another Random company beginning to operate in Mexico to supply brake drums for the aftermarket between April and May.

“The relocation of the Suspensys unit and the Castertech warehouse are part of the company’s global advance strategy”, says Ricardo Escoboza, Empresas Randon’s auto parts division supervisor director. “Beyond assembling and providing solutions, we work expecting aggregate processes until we reach production.”
