In a release issued this week, the manufacturer tell that one of the highlights of the model to be produced in São Caetano do Sul, SP is its electronic central: “It enables three times more calibration variables than the previous generation pickups, ensuring a much more efficient drive package’s performance”.
According to GM’s engineering, the result is the segment’s best acceleration-consumption ratio. The company asserts its pickup will be the fuel economy champion among automatic pickups.
“To optimize performance, either loaded or empty, it was developed a specific engine and transmission calibration for the New Montana”, explains Eduardo Domeniquelli, the project chief engineer.
GM’s objective is to offer a product uniting the roughness of a real pickup and the comfort and handling of an SUV. The New Montana project was developed in a partnership between GM technical centers in South and North America and Asia. Pre-sales will start next Thursday, 12/1.
