Daimler Truck moves ahead to contribute to decarbonizing cargo transportation with the presentation of the long-haul eActros, a future member of the manufacturer’s electric truck lineup. The model is a brand’s highlight at the IAA Transportation 2022, the international commercial vehicle exhibit in Hanover, Germany, open to the public from Tuesday, 9/20.

The truck was shown for the first time Sunday night as a prototype in a guest event. A standout of the brand’s stand at the exhibit, the model’s production is scheduled for 2024.

The eActros LongHaul will have three phosphate lithium-iron batteries with a total of 600 kWh and two electric motors. The project aims to grant the operator a 500 km range in a single charge and to enable recharging from 20% to 80% of the energy in less than 30 minutes in a 1-megawatt station

According to the manufacturer, the first prototypes are being tested, and next year, near-production units will be used in real operation by customers. The company also advances that the model will have a rigid version.

Daimler expects that up to 2030, 60% of its sales in the European Union shall be carbon-neutral commercial vehicles. The company already produces eight electric truck models.
