The New C3 was just launched in the Brazilian market, but Citroën is already on the move to make the compact car one of its global electrification process leading models beginning in Asia. In February, the hatch that the marketing says here has an “SUV hint” will have a fully electric version made in India.

The e-C3 production and sale in Europe have not been confirmed yet. Nonetheless, Renault’s strategy with the electric Kwid, launched in Asia and that in Europe is sold under the Dacia brand with the name Spring, could be a reference for Stellantis, manufacturer of Citroën and thirteen other automobile brands.

The electric C3 will be produced at the Chennai plant, where the combustion version is also made since mid-2022. Citroën, Citroën’s world CEO, said the e-C3 would be initially offered to Indian companies and fleet operators. This limitation should be due to India’s lack of a charging structure.

Such as Citroën’s future electric lineup’s entry car, the Ami subcompact, appropriate only for short trips, the eC3 will have a 30 kWh battery and a range not exceeding 300 km.
