Iveco will concede vacations in some production areas at its Sete Lagoas, MG plant. According to the company, the decision “is due to the strong demand fall caused by the interest rate increase and the Euro 6 introduction”.

The license, for up to 12 days, will be individual and begin on April 24. The number of employees has not been released.
The manufacturer is one more heavy-vehicle producer to adjust production, such as Mercedes-Benz and Scania, through vacations or work shift suspension.

Production fell in the first quarter

Although the first trimester sales grew 6.6%, 93.6% of the 28.6 trucks sold were produced last year and belong to the Euro 5 generation.

During the first three months of 2023, production was reduced by 28.8% with 24.4 units. Considering the deliveries, most of this year’s production remains at the plants’ yards.
