The Randon Companies expanded its production capacity for the body on chassis segment. In a strategic move in last year’s second half, the group opened a new unit in Paulínia, SP, dedicated to the final assemblage of this kind of vehicle.

The expansion began in 2021, when Randon inaugurated a unit exclusively for manufacturing and assembling bodies on chassis in Messias, AL. The operation was born to meet Northeast’s demand, but it will now concentrate the company’s body production in the country.

According to the company, the segment operations in Paulínia accelerate the offer in the Southeast, the highest demand region.

“The body on chassis market in Brazil is similar to semitrailers, and we see a great potential of recovery for this business in the country”, declared on a note Sandro Trentin, supervisor-director of the Randon Companies’ Manufacture division.

“The operations in Paulínia and Messias are strategic for this move.”
The executive says he believes in the segment growth in 2023 and the next years without mentioning numbers.

According to Anfir’s data, despite the body on chassis market registering a slight 1% fall last year, it overcame 72 thousand units delivered, a volume Randon considers significant.

Randon says that besides Paulínia, other company distributors and strategic partners can perform body-on-chassis coupling.

Randon says its portfolio meets about 70% of the national body on chassis demand. The main product is the general cargo van. Last year, the company added the offer of refrigerated and tipping bodies. Beverage and dry cargo implements are also in the product range.
