Brazil was Renault’s second-largest market worldwide in the first trimester, second only to France. The brand sold 345,545 vehicles in the period, growing 9% over the same period in 2022. France registered 17.3% of Renault sales in the period (87.7 thousand units), and Brazil 6%, with 26.3 thousand deliveries. Italy was third, with 5.2% and 24.5 thousand units.

Presenting Renault’s results this Tuesday, 4/18, Fabrice Cambolive, the brand’s CEO, asserted the company is accelerating its profitable growth thanks to well-succeeded launches in high-aggregated value segments (Arkana, new Austral and the electric Megane E-Tech). “We want to intensify this dynamic with the new Espace”.

In Brazil, the brand’s flagship is the compact Kwid, which sold 13,838 units in the first trimester, a 21.4% increase over the 11,402 units sold in 2022. The 26.3 thousand Renault sold in the Brazilian market in the first three months of the year corresponded to a 6% share.

The index was close to Europe’s in the trimester (6.2%), with 231,125 sales of automobiles and light commercial vehicles. The company emphasized the result in Europe’s electrified vehicle market, where it was the leader in the period with 24% and 61 thousand deliveries.

Renault’s electrified range (electrics and hybrids) is currently 38% of the brand’s retail sales, as the market average is 34%. Hybrid models had a strong growth in the trimester, a 42% increase to 38.4 thousand units. They are 60% of Arkanas sold and 67% of new Austral’s sales.

Renault’s deliveries of 100% electric vehicles increased by 15% in Europe, reaching 20 thousand units. The electric Megane E-Tech, which in 2023 will have its first full year of sales, sold more than 11 thousand units in the trimester and was France’s bestseller in the segment. The model was presented in Brazil in September last year and should be launched here this semester.
