Manufacturers cut prices by up to 15% even for models over R$ 120 thousand

Market’s most affordable car, the Renault Kwid costs now R$ 59 thousand

The incentive measure for the light and heavy vehicle market was released this Tuesday, 6/6 dawn, and, already at the first business hours, the manufacturers’ websites were announcing lower prices or suggesting to consumers to enroll to purchase a vehicle with discounts to be announced.

Renault was the faster to act and announced that the Kwid, its cheaper model, had the price reduced by exactly R$ 1o thousand and is selling by R$ 58,990. The cut was over 15%, much beyond the 11% estimated by the government as the ceiling for incentives to vehicles that reach most of the points defined by the package, which considers price, energy efficiency and national content.

Hyundai was also agile. Yet in the morning, the price of the HB 20 1.0 hatch fell from R$ 82,290 to R$ 74,290, a 10% reduction.

Fiat, Peugeot and Citroën, three of the five brands of Stellantis, the internal market leading manufacturer with 30% of the deliveries – alerted their websites’ visitors that they would announce the new prices “soon” and suggested to those interested in applying for them through the Internet.

Even Jeep, another Stellantis brand, which had no model offered under R$ 120 thousand to receive incentives, radically reduced the prices of two Renegade versions that, this way, were enabled to receive the government credit.

The Renegade 1.3 Turbo, which cost R$ 125,990, is now offered for R$ 115.990. The Sport version had an even higher reduction, from R$ 134,990 to the same R$ 115.990, an R$ 19 thousand or 14%. Adding to it is all zero-interest financing.

Precautiously, some brands took out of the air version and price configurators, such as Volkswagen, which had announced minutes after the announcement of the measures that would expand the government incentive to consumers with “up to R$ 5 thousand or zero-interest financing”.

This Tuesday morning, even though it did not inform the final price of its entry model, Polo Track, it offered the interested consumers a registration form for the “New Polo Offer” and suggested maintaining contact through WhatsApp or phone calls.
