The city of São Paulo received this Monday, 9/18, 50 electric buses for public transportation. The vehicles will be operated by Transwolff, Transppass, Ambiental and Campo Belo transport companies.
The delivery is an advance on São Paulo’s municipality goal to have 20% of the bus fleet electric-driven by the end of 2024, the equivalent of 2.6 thousand units.
According to the prefecture, the city’s public transport now has 270 electric vehicles – 201 of them trolleybuses, driven by wire-supplied electricity.
The buses have bodies made by Caio using Mercedes-Benz and Scania chassis and were electrified by Eletra with WEG motors. The fleet includes Padron-standard and articulated models.
At the delivery, the transport concessionaries firmed a deal with Enel X for charging infrastructure at the garages and vehicle operation monitoring service.
