The compact Mobi reached a significant mark for Fiat’s Brazilian operations. Launched in 2016, the small car reached 500 thousand units produced in Betim, MG.

“The Mobi proves that size isn’t everything”, celebrated Herlander Zola, Fiat South America’s senior vice president. “To reach the half million mark proves that, despite being a compact car, it has a giant’s spirit”.

The executive said that, since its launch, the Mobi became a good choice for those who look for an economic, practical and stylish car: “This is shown by its sales numbers, as it has always been among the bestselling vehicles in Brazil”.

The production numbers show the model’s success in the Brazilian market and in the region where it is commercialized.

In September, more than six thousand units were delivered, totaling nearly 52 thousand in the year. The Mobi is the sixth bestselling light vehicle in the country and is well-accepted in the 12 Latin American countries to where it is exported.

In the note released this Monday, 10/23, to celebrate half a million units, Fiat remembers the name Mobi chosen for the compact car “fun to drive, functional and very economical” wasn’t selected by chance.

“It is the result of a profound study on city life and the desire to create a car to be a through urban mobility ally. The word is directly related to the car’s vocation for mobility, emphasizing the vehicle’s hability to move easily in urban areas’.

Thanks to recent technical improvements in its Fire engine, the Mobi can ride up to 15 km/l using gasoline, according to the Brazilian Vehicle Labeling Program.
